ySOLD 6/22/2011 to Monty and Pat 2010 King Coyote Quixote a Grullo gelding. Born a light Dun but that has changed to grullo. Most of the grullo foals that we get start out that pastel Dun color, and then they shed out grullo. He has a wonderful disposition, a Cutting Horse pedigree, he's athletic, intelligent, & and he's pretty good looking.
His sire: Nu Hollywood King (a grullo with a EE black gene) is 96% Foundation bred, NFQHA in Joseph, Oregon. "King's" sire, Nu Hollywood at Dawn, also a grullo horse, is an NCHA money earner. His sire: Hollywood Bill is an AQHA Superior Cutting horse, and a son of Hollywood Gold (1940 Dun). King P234 (1932 Bay) is right there, in the 3rd generation, behind Nu Hollywood King. I believe that it is physically impossible to get any closer to these "old" Foundation bloodlines, than this.
The dam: Snips Candy Quixote, is a daughter of Snipper Music, Snaffle Bit Futurity Winner with 3 AQHA points in Team Penning. He's our very favorite horse of all time. He was a fun horse to ride and a super sire. He sired horses that became prettier than he was, and he gave the foals all of his wonderful traits. Smooth gaits, catty athleticism, beautiful heads, good conformation, intelligence, willing to please attitude, people loving, gentle disposition, very curious, not spooky, and all of the colors in the rainbow.
"Candy's" Dam is Alibis Quixote a granddaughter of Doc Quixote, (a Non-Pro NCHA Futurity Champion)and Professor's Alibi a point earner in Halter, and 16 cutting pts, an NCHA money earner, and Sire of High Point Cutting Mares and Stallion, with Top Ten Finishers at the World Championships in '86 and '88. The pedigree has 3 crosses to King, Poco Bueno, and Doc Bar, plus Midnight Jr, Blackburn, all Foundation bred horses.
This new foal can become a trail horse, a super ranch gelding, or top-notch performance horse. He has a full brother, King Cole Quixote, owned by Melissa Hill Fowler in South Dakota, that is doing it all, On a huge ranch, roping and dragging calves to the fire, whatever needs to be done on a ranch, King babies will do it.
