Diamond's foal this year is a grullo roan filly born June 5, 2011. She's a knock-out! No white. Beautiful head, She's really a Diamond in the rough! Just wait until she's all shed out,filled out, big and slick and shiny.
She's A gorgeous grullo roan filly. The Snips Silver Legacy and Diamond Poco Chic cross, always produces a super foal. With the combination of these two horses, there is "cow" on both sides of the pedigree. No doubt she will be an athlete.
One thing we can be sure of, this filly will Stand out in anyone's pasture. She is really a sweet heart and gorgeous.
Sire of the 2011 grullo roan filly is Snips Silver Legacy, sired by Snipper Music a Snaffle Bit Futurity Winner. According to the trainer, Claudia Ogilvie, she said that Snipper Music won, every reining class that he was entered in. Rockey really enjoyed riding him on the ranch. he He used Snipper for every difficult job. Such as bring the bull home from the neighbor's pasture. Rockey roped an 1880 pound cow with Snipper that needed to have her calf pulled. The Cow and the bull both out weighed Snipper by 650 lbs. Snipper handled the job, regardless of difficulty or if he had ever done it before or not. Rockey and Snipper Music were a part of the team that won the 1993 Team Penning Championship here in the Bitterroot Valley. Rockey also took Snipper Music to 3 Team Pennings at AQHA approved shows, and won 1 pt at each show. Too bad there were not AQHA points available at the Snaffle Bit Futurities and all of the open shows where he won the Reining class.
The Dam of this filly, Diamond Poco Chic, is sired by Black Weasel, a black stallion with the EE homozygous for black gene. Black Weasel is a grand son of King Fritz, an AQHA Champion. The Black Weasel daughters, that we were fortunate enough to buy, have given us outstanding foals.
Normally they are the first ones sold.
This filly will mature at 15-2 at least, She's obviously a gorgeous roan filly. No doubt, she will be athletic and very trainable, with a good chance that she will be homozygous for the double EE black gene.
