Concord Jewel Bar 2005 black quarter mare. Double bred Snipper Music, plus Jewel's Leo Bars and Rey Jay. Beautiful head and fantastic conformation.
Concord Jewel Bar is a black filly, that is sired by Concord Music and out of Sooty Freckles. She has a beautiful head, she's a very nice filly, and she's 50% Snipper Music, a Snaffle Bit Futurity Winner! Concord Music is a son of Snipper and Sooty Freckles is a daughter of Snipper. This cross has worked very well for us, at least two buyers have kept the stud colts from this cross, as stallions. They are really pretty.
Sooty Freckles's dam, Jay More Freckles was imported from Australia for her wonderful cutting horse pedigree. She was a granddaughter of Jewel's Leo Bars, by Sugar Bars, and great granddaughter of Rey Jay. Rey Jay was an AQHA Champion, a Superior Cutting horse with 255 AQHA points and he was the Non-Pro Cutting Champion at the NCHA World Finals. Jewel's Leo Bars, a cutting horse himself with 26 cutting points, was a great sire, and he sired Colonel Freckles, an NCHA Futurity World Champion.
Even though we don't compete in cutting competitions ourselves we have always liked horses that have some cutting blood, as it seems that they are smarter and they are willing and they want to perform. They are very energetic when you need it, very calm when you don't. At least that's the way Snipper Music was. He'd stand around like a gelding waiting to go into the ring, and when they called him in, he'd really go after those cows.
He rose to every occasion no matter what the job, whether it was to hold an 1800 lb cow at the end of a rope so we could pull her calf, or bring home the wayword bull from the neighbor's pasture. Snipper Music foals really like people, and they have brave hearts, they are not afraid of anything.
Besides being a great performance mare, Concord Jewel Bar will be a color producer when you breed her. She could have grullos, blue roans, and blacks, depending on what color the stallion is.
